disc daze! so many disc brake bikes. first up is a 650c front wheeled disc brake fork going on a fixed gear city bike. should be pretty fun- 700c rear fixed with risers and a front 140mm rotor brake. the calipers themselves (avid bb7) are pretty cool. they’re like little artificial hearts or something. very solid feeling. the second bike is getting front and rear disc. i used the paragon low mount dropouts for the rear, which will put the caliper between the stays (as opposed to on the back of the seatstay). this makes for a clean look. i particularly like uncluttered monostays. this one has plenty of clearance for running knobby cross tires, and now that the uci ban on disc brakes for cross has been lifted it’ll be on the cutting edge of cross bike design as well. looking forward to building them both up when they get back from paint!
