the royal h tumblr fell a bit cold these last few weeks, but this bike is definitely worth dusting off the old internet tubes and sharing with the world. it’s for my aunt jane. i wanted to improve on her current bike- a late eighties trek that was aggravating some shoulder issues and generally not fitting. a few degrees of top tube slope allowed for a taller head tube, and nitto albatross bars got the cockpit nice and comfortable. but it’s a road bike at it’s core- super light and a quick climber, with fillet brazed head tube joints. i’m really happy with the apex group too- a ton of gear range and it shifts like a champ. i’m not quite ready to adopt the ‘ape 10’ nickname though… but i’m sure it will catch on soon enough on it’s own. more photos to follow!
